New additions to the collection, Many thanks to Martin for the deal on a VGC ITC Touring complete with spare uncut body (Box-art 👍) and a couple of vintage body shells which included the 1/8th Porsche Mardave sold as an alternative in the late 70s - wanted one of these for a while now and look forward to working on it next Spring. It was also great seeing Martins fantastic collection of 1/8th Mardave’s, hopefully see some of them here soon. Click on photos to enlarge. 06/12/2023.
Many thanks to Martin for sharing this incredibly rare Box-art photo of a very early edition Lola 294, a much simpler theme used on this car, seems no matter how long you’ve been a collector there’s things out there you’ve never seen before! 25/10/2023.
Original Mk1 Mini which was tidied up and re sprayed a few years ago, took ages to find out the original colour of the B&W box-art car until Lee Bishop shared some original colour photos of the car used. The Mk1s are quite rare and interestingly were created to use up the 1/12 electric parts to make way for a focus on the Apache, but became super popular and quickly updated to the Mk2 which sold extremely well, the Mini has been a strong seller for 40+ years thanks to this 1st version! Lewis. 21/10/2023.
Couple of Boxart photos added to the collection from the 1990s. 21/10/2023.
Chris Pinkney’s completely original Mk1 & Mk2 Marauders which I had the pleasure of assisting with the bodies, looking great out on the grass, slight issue is the larger blue Irvine engine head is pressing against the window mesh! Click on images to enlarge. 01/10/2023.
There’s a new page in the Projects sharing pictures and tips on completing a Marauder Box-art paint job, more photos of the Mk2 coming soon. Lewis - 15/08/2023.
Doe’s anyone out there own a set of the Instructions for the 1/12 Electric BRM F1 car that they’ll be happy to share? Not sure if they would have included information on the 1st Mardave speed controller or if that was an additional sheet like the later cars. If you can help drop an email to [email protected] 🤞

Have never tackled probably one of Mardave’s most loved box-art jobs, Mk2 Marauder copy coming soon, will cover problems getting it right, using replica Kamtec shells, decals etc. Lewis 20/06/23.
Had a great time at the RCKicks meeting on 23rd April, took a good range of Mardave’s along, thought they looked brilliant with the different scales and ages on the table, surprisingly it was the Lotus 72 that caught most peoples eye! 1st time on a track with the Cobra ECO, so much harder than it looks! Started off far too twitchy with the steering which I could slowly feel improving after a few laps, definitely want to have another go and learn more about setting up the car. 30/04/2023.
Recently added a period Veco 19 engine and fuel tank to the Lotus 72, homemade engine mounts which are roughly the same as what would have been supplied with the kit, the old fuel tank cleaned up fairly well, took photos of a sticker on a better tank to have some copies made, just need to find a pair of early 70s servos now! 20/04/23.
Recent Marauder project copying the 1990 Race Car Magazine feature car on an old Kamtec body I’d been sitting on for a while, chassis features the rear shock upgrade to match, managed to find out the dimensions of the vintage Irvine decals for some reproductions, wish I went a little bolder with the Pink! Lewis. 11th April 2023.
Check out this stunning very early Stock Car for sale on eBay, comes with what is likely the best remaining box there is! These early Stock Cars are very rare, with near mint box, instructions and early vintage radio gear this is a real collectors car, I almost wish I didn’t own one to justify going for this one! Click on the photos to enlarge. 14th Feb 2023.
Thank you so much to Chris Pinkney for sharing his amazing collection of new build Marauders Mk1 & Mk2, 3 x Apaches! and related photos of vintage information. The Mk1 Marauder is really special, prepared for display by Mardave for The Oxford Model Centre store in the 1980s, this Marauder took place in their window display with the A4 card advert which came with the car when Chris brought it, believe this advert may have been issued to model stores to promote the brand as have never seen it featured in any magazines etc, Mk2 full box-art photos also included. With the Apaches some shots of a period Magazine review which will be added to media very soon, enjoy all the new photos & information being posted over the next couple of days! 2nd Jan 2023.
Really cool VW Beetle review from RC Model Cars Magazine in 1996, they did a great job with the body theme! Find the review in Media. Dec 2022.
As a young lad with a Tamiya Firedragon I used to drool over this Magazine article imagining what a larger nitro car must be like, the closest I ever got to a Marauder was a very tatty one at a car boot, Dad said No! it’s this very article that left Mardave in my mind, just over 10 years ago and after restoring a couple of Tamiya’s which I found so expensive to do I thought I’d give a Marauder a go, absolutely loved it! The Mardave collection started. I love the fact that some of their cars really are rare and your not one of many others collecting them, take the very 1st cars (Matra Simca & Alfa) other then some early 1970s magazine reviews they are no where to be seen! One day 🤞. Hopefully a good copy of The Radio Race Car Marauder from 1990 coming soon. Lewis.
Huge Thankyou to Guy Redshaw for sending over some photos of his 2 Stock Cars, a 1/8th early car with a fantastic vintage paint job! and 1/12th Mk 2 electric version with box and instructions, copies of these plus the Mk.ll Speed Controller have kindly been shared to add to the site. Guy is very interested to find any racing history of these cars, would anyone out there know of the Drivers name “John Powers or Stapleton” as featured on the 1/8th? Have heard that a gold roof may show signs of a successful racer? Comment or do get in touch if you know more about vintage stock car racing. Nov 2022.
Follow up article to the earlier build completed by Radio Race Car Magazine back in 1990, think I’ve got a repro Marauder body tucked away somewhere which hasn’t been painted yet 🤔 Find it in the media pages. Nov 2022.
Many thanks to Mark Staley for sending over some photos of his Mk II Stock Car with collection of very rare body shells Mardave produced back in the day, added to the Stock Car gallery, plus great to see another box front to add to the box-art page! July 2022.
Sat on the fence for 5 years with this one, love the vintage paint job, but also really wanted to go with the Hesketh Box-art theme, the car had actually never been run, the body hadn’t been cut out to allow for the throttle & brake rods at the back, too much had been cut off the rear spoiler to keep the correct look and decals, the front grill has also been cut out, all the hardware except the 1.5mm rods are original, build photos added to the Mk 4 gallery. Lewis - May 22
1977 Hesketh stripped down ready for a box-art rebuild. April 2022.
Have waited years to find one of these very rare McLaren M23s, this one has never been run and completes my collection of Mk4 1/8th flat pan chassis Mardave’s. Lewis - March 2022.
Received these photos quite some time ago of a beautiful looking Mardave Mk3 chassis car with a difference under the body! Added to the Mk3 gallery. Feb 2022.
Click the link below for a stunning look at some vintage Mardaves in action, the 6 wheelers are interesting, could be custom builds? If you know more get in touch.
